Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Technical Management, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in technical service/repair management, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry with 5+ years of managerial experience, or Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in technical service/repair management, with 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Nice to Have
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, ISO, and other regulatory requirements relevant to medical device repair
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of in-house repair technicians and supervisors
  • Oversee daily repair operations, including workflow management, resource allocation, and prioritization of repair tasks
  • Monitor and analyze repair metrics to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Maintain compliance with FDA, ISO, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for repair processes
  • Collaborate with OU management, engineering, quality assurance, and customer service teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Drive process improvements and implement Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Manage inventory and spare parts for repair operations, ensuring optimal stock levels
  • Prepare and present reports on repair performance, trends, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership
  • Support customer inquiries and escalations related to repair services
  • Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to Medtronic’s health and safety policies
  • Cost Center planning and expenditure responsibility
