Requirements
- Advanced to expert engineering and implementation skills in Cassandra, MongoDB, and Redis
- Expertise in installing, configuring, monitoring, upgrading, and maintaining databases in production and non-production environments, including DR and patching
- Proficiency in database administration and engineering practices and principles
- Ability to respond to and analyze high severity incidents, provide resolution and root cause analysis
- Skills in planning and implementing proactive measures for reducing downtime, capacity management, and reporting
- Experience in database administration for off-the-shelf and internally developed applications ensuring 24x7 availability
- Ability to write and maintain OS-level scripts for database automation and application maintenance
- Technical expertise in consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms
- Proficiency in proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of Level 2 and Level 3 issues
- Ability to work closely with infrastructure engineering, product development, business operations, and tech teams
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team, with guidance only in the most complex situations
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
Responsibilities
- Support Database Platform Engineering in development and deployment for Cassandra, MongoDB, and Redis
- Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and maintain databases in production and non-production environments, including DR and patching
- Respond to and analyze high severity calls, work to resolution, and provide root cause analysis
- Plan and implement proactive measures for reducing downtime in production environments, including capacity management and reporting
- Perform database administration for off-the-shelf and internally developed applications to ensure 24x7 operation and availability
- Write and maintain OS-level scripts for database automation and application maintenance
- Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms
- Conduct proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of escalated Level 2 and Level 3 issues
- Contribute to solution engineering, support, delivering database projects, maintaining systems, and performing problem analysis
- Provide technical influence and subject matter expertise, solving complex problems and identifying innovative solutions
