Position Overview

Mysten Labs is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic data science team. We are building foundational infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of decentralized protocols based on blockchain technologies. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in traditional web companies to upskill in web3, or for those with web3 backgrounds to further develop their skills with one of the most performant blockchains.

The data science function at Mysten Labs encompasses product analytics, data engineering, partnership measurement, and establishing best practices for measuring activity on the Sui Blockchain.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, and partnership teams to conceptualize, measure, and report on product rollouts, chain health, and ecosystem behaviors.
• Build descriptive dashboards to drive product understanding for product managers, engineers, and executive leadership.
• Generate one-off analyses for product partners.
• Run analyses to identify high-impact applications for Mysten Lab’s novel web3 technologies.
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams to set new industry standards for web3 measurement.
• Ensure data processing jobs run reliably in a lightweight, scrappy environment.

Requirements

• Strong SQL and visualization skills.
• A deep desire to communicate clearly and captivatingly.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A collaborative approach to data analysis, working across data, engineering, product, and marketing teams.
• A deep interest in bringing web3 technologies to daily life.
• Data Engineering experience is valued, including:
  • Streaming high-volume data
  • Data warehousing
  • Experience using Python and Rust for logging
