Senior Data Scientist - Digital Analytics

Position Overview

• Employment Type: Full Time
• Brief Description: The Aetna Smart Compare analytics product team is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop recommendation engines using Machine Learning algorithms. This role involves working closely with various teams to deliver ML models that provide near real-time provider recommendations to customers.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years as a Data Scientist with relevant analytic experience.
• Programming Skills: 3+ years of experience programming using Python.
• SQL Skills: 3+ years of SQL programming experience.
• Cloud Experience: 2+ years of experience with Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Algorithm Development: 2+ years of experience developing algorithms and statistical predictive models.

Responsibilities

• Develops and/or uses algorithms and statistical predictive models to optimize patient - provider interaction scenarios.
• Performs analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve complex business problems.
• Utilizes advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses.
• Collaborates with business partners to understand and solve their problems.
• Understands data architecture and API development principles.
• Develops and participates in presentations and consultations on analytics results and solutions.
• Interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information.
• Uses strong knowledge in algorithms and predictive models to investigate problems and recommend solutions.
• Uses strong programming skills to explore and interpret large volumes of data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and deploying deep learning models specifically for recommendation systems in the Healthcare domain.
• Proficiency with frameworks, particularly PyTorch and NVIDIA-Merlin, including hands-on experience with model architecture design and training at scale.
• Familiarity with customer segmentation and addressing cold-start problems.
• Demonstrated experience with hybrid or collaborative filtering approaches.
