Requirements

Candidates should possess a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, and have at least 5 years of experience in data science, with a strong emphasis on spatial data analysis and machine learning. Experience with spatial econometrics, machine learning, and Geospatial AI (GeoAI) is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud data warehouses and modern data science tools is expected.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Scientist will build data science models to solve complex business problems, designing and running experiments to develop CARTO’s Analytics Toolbox and CARTO Workflows. They will participate in all phases of the data science product lifecycle, including exploratory data analysis, model development, productionizing, and evaluation. Additionally, the role involves leading research activities to discover new Spatial Data Science methods, collaborating with engineering and product teams, and working with external clients to address their spatial data science challenges.
