Mercury is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team and drive data-informed decision-making across the company. Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience working with and analyzing large datasets to solve problems and drive impact.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Fluency in SQL
    • Proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
    • Experience building scalable data pipelines and ETL processes with DBT
    • Understanding of different database structures

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Insights:
    • Partner with Product stakeholders and other cross-functional teams to identify impactful business questions.
    • Conduct deep-dive analysis and translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
    • Communicate findings to audiences at all levels to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Metric Definition & Monitoring:
    • Define and analyze metrics that inform tactical decisions and overall strategy.
    • Monitor the health of products using defined metrics.
  • Data Education & Best Practices:
    • Educate teams on how to best use data.
    • Define best practices for making decisions on prioritization, experimentation, data models, and more.
  • Data Pipeline Development:
    • Collaborate with other Data Scientists and Data Engineers to build and improve data pipelines, tools, and infrastructure.
    • Ensure the integrity, reliability, and security of data assets.
  • Influence & Implementation:
    • Influence engineering, design, and business teams to implement data-based recommendations.
