Requirements

7+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on backend and data systems
Strong proficiency in writing, debugging, and optimizing complex SQL queries against large data sets
Excellent knowledge and expertise in OOP concepts, SOLID principles, and Design Patterns
Proficiency in Java and Spring Framework
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to debugging and optimization
Familiarity with mathematical modeling, statistics, or data science concepts
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and DevOps practices
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
Exposure to AI tools like MS Copilot
Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouses
Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure
Experience with data science tools (e.g., Python, R, Jupyter Notebooks)

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java
Write and debug efficient and optimized SQL queries for data transformation and reporting
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Design and develop features aligned with Data Science specifications, leveraging a solid foundation in mathematical and statistical principles to ensure accuracy and performance
Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to analysis and architectural decisions
Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues
Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability through best practices and testing
