Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree, preferred Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor project/initiative teams and develop junior resources
  • Possesses thought leadership in the area of Data Architecture with the ability to leverage this knowledge to communicate and influence others at peer and senior levels

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and works on end-to-end execution of data architecture and data modeling/ontology creation for several large or mid-sized business applications for multiple geographies and/or mid-sized programs
  • Oversees components of larger data architecture projects/programs
  • Creates and manages the reference architecture, associated artifacts, data models, ontologies, and design principles for the information layer
  • Defines and drives information lifecycle management for area of responsibility, particularly the management of data architecture epics, user stories, and tasks associated with business application delivery
  • Partners with project teams to design, create, and re-use enterprise information assets, services, infrastructure, and business systems
  • Collaborates with solution architects, internal stakeholders, and external peer groups to drive benefits through knowledge sharing, including working closely with Product Owners and Engineers to deliver business applications
  • Strictly complies with processes and procedures for ensuring data security and privacy compliance with information policies and practices, including ensuring that the data architecture supports regulatory, legal, or internal reporting for data security and privacy compliance
  • Works with Data Office Data Governance team to ensure processes and procedures for data quality, integrity, and "fit-for-purpose" are adhered to
  • Ensures practices enable advancements in business performance, including the capture of metrics supporting the data architecture goal of faster delivery with greater quality
  • Monitors and analyzes new market and industry developments for potential applicability to business needs
  • Specializes in multiple sub-functional data domain areas: Ontology/Data modeling (conceptualize and design ontologies and data models); Reporting and Analytical data assets (conceptualize and design Data assets and data interfaces including Warehouses and Marts); Data Integration (identify and prescribe solution specific means and tools); NoSQL (prescribe, design, and implement assets with NoSQL, Document DB, Graph DB and other technologies); Master Data (manage MDM data design across all mastered data domains); Reference Data (manage Reference data design across all data domains); LLM/AI (understand and design data architecture and ontologies that support enterprise standards around ontology/AI design)
