Candidates must possess extensive knowledge of laws, regulations, and investor/insurer guidelines governing residential mortgage servicing, including CFPB, GNMA, FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, and FHLMC. A strong understanding of mortgage loan servicing, default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and loss mitigation processes is required, along with excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail. The ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of multifaceted work in a fast-paced, changing environment is also essential.
The Senior Contested Case Manager is responsible for managing assigned contested foreclosure cases, proactively monitoring for risks and escalating them as needed. This role involves working independently with outside counsel to develop litigation strategies, preparing case summaries for counsel and investors, and assessing new contested matters to determine risk and resolution strategies. Responsibilities include managing all phases of litigation, including discovery, preparing witnesses, coordinating document production, and managing relationships with outside counsel, including budget and invoice approval. The position requires updating the litigation database, tracking case events, identifying high-risk matters, participating in settlement negotiations, assisting with special projects, and training staff. Additionally, the role involves generating reports, responding to inquiries within 24 hours, recommending procedural improvements, conducting research, and maintaining confidentiality.
