Position Overview

OKX is seeking a dedicated Compliance professional to support the Head of Compliance and MLRO in implementing MiCA governance and ensuring adherence to local and European regulations. This role involves assisting with regulatory requests, participating in risk assessments, and partnering with product teams to ensure compliance for new initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AML/CFT compliance within the cryptocurrency industry and a proactive approach to managing regulatory obligations in a fast-paced environment.

About the Team

The Compliance function at OKX is dedicated to fostering a strong compliance culture and advising the business on regulatory obligations and enterprise risk. The OKX Malta team specifically manages the AML and regulatory compliance programs, ensuring alignment with EU and global requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Compliance and MLRO in the implementation of MiCA governance to ensure compliance with local and European regulations.
• Assist with responses to compliance requests from local and European authorities.
• Participate in compliance risk assessments, monitoring, and testing programs, including associated remediations.
• Collaborate with Product teams on new product and token launches to address compliance obligations.
• Develop global relationships with key stakeholders across Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk teams.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Ensure compliance policies and procedures are updated to reflect changing regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed about the crypto economy and regulatory landscape, including blockchain trends, emerging protocols, industry participants, and regulatory developments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in AML/CFT compliance within the cryptocurrency industry, financial services, or FinTech.
• Experience in client onboarding, KYC, or AML monitoring.
• Regulatory project management skills with attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and strong organizational abilities.
• Some knowledge of the crypto economy with a strong desire to learn more.
• Ability to work effectively in a global environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Nice to Haves

• Compliance experience within Traditional Exchanges or Investment Banks.
• Familiarity with MiCA or Payments rules, and some understanding of MiFID II regulation.
• Experience with AML suspicious transaction filings.
