Candidates should possess at least 6 years of software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems. Experience with Go, C/C++, Java, or similar programming languages, concurrency, multithreading, and the deployment of distributed system architectures is required. Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings, along with experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes, is also necessary. Strong problem-solving skills, solid production debugging abilities, and excellent communication skills are essential.
The Senior Cloud Performance Engineer will benchmark system performance, analyze database performance, and perform capacity sizing and optimization. Responsibilities include troubleshooting application and server errors, recommending configuration tuning for performance bottlenecks, and collaborating with core development, cloud, and security teams to enhance ClickHouse Cloud performance. The role involves planning and driving Chaos initiatives, developing and managing tools for chaos experiments, and extending the backend to enable Chaos Engineering techniques. This includes observing running systems and identifying innovative ways to disrupt them to improve resilience and operational efficiency.
