Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field, and possess at least three years of experience in cell engineering, manufacturing, or development. They should have in-depth knowledge of conventional battery technology, materials, and cell manufacturing processes, along with familiarity with CAD software like Solidworks and stage-gate development. A fundamental understanding of key statistics principles, including ANOVA, regression, and DOE, is required, as is demonstrable experience in data-driven decision making and expertise with statistical tools such as JMP, Minitab, R, or Python.

Responsibilities

The Senior Cell Development Engineer will deliver data-driven design specifications based on tolerance stack-up analysis, propose and lead efforts to improve design performance variation through DOEs and data analysis, support cell performance characterization and test planning, and support cell component qualification test planning and execution. They will also contribute to cell design optimization based on analysis of production datasets and controlled DOEs, and demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and communicate technical information effectively through documentation and presentations.
