💻 About the Opportunity

We are looking for a purpose-driven Senior Backend Engineer to join our DriveShield™ team. You will work on a critical, stealth project focused on enhancing driver safety and making a tangible impact on millions of lives. This role is pivotal in building scalable and high-performance backend systems that support Jerry.ai's explosive growth, helping us transition from 5 million to 50 million customers and disrupt a $2 trillion market through innovation at scale.

🫵 How You Will Make an Impact

• Focus on non-functional requirements of backend applications, including service availability, scalability, reliability (fault tolerance), and potentially observability and security.
• Oversee system design and architecture to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Develop and optimize stream processing applications using Kafka and Flink.
• Profile and optimize application performance.
• Focus on the application layer, collaborating with data scientists to deploy and integrate models in production.
• Handle data processing, sanitization, validation, and data quality assurance.

🚀 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one core language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript).
• Expertise in Kafka, Flink, and AWS.
• Proven experience building stream processing applications.
• A track record of shipping products and features rapidly.
• Startup experience at a high-growth company is a plus.
• Previous experience working with geospatial data is a bonus.
