Requirements

Candidates are expected to have at least 9+ years of experience supporting backbone or large Enterprise networks, with a proven track record utilizing Juniper hardware/software and MX platforms, demonstrating the ability to develop sophisticated scripting for complex network build and support functions. Strong understanding of the TCP/IP stack, Internet routing, and peering relationships is essential, along with expertise in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and ISIS. Knowledge of flow export (IPFIX) is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backbone Engineer will lead projects independently to upgrade, optimize, and improve the global backbone network, building scripting and templates for network functions like service addition/deletion, device maintenance, and tech refresh. They will identify potential POP locations and Internet Exchanges to enhance connectivity, participate in capacity planning for WAN, Internet, and customer connections, and collaborate with other senior engineers on network strategy, providing mentorship to junior engineers. Additionally, they will generate and load configuration to routers for new WAN, Transit, and Peering connections.
