Requirements

Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements
Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation
Experience with autonomous systems and on-machine validation (top candidates)
Experience with Vector tools (CANape and CANalyzer) (top candidates)
Linux operating system experience (top candidates)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering or related field (top candidates)

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and troubleshoot autonomy software systems used for autonomous machines, including onboard system validation integrating with current machine systems and autonomy sub-systems (Planning, Perception, Positioning) and supporting infrastructure (calibration, simulation, analytics, machine learning development pipelines)
Collaborate with other engineers to ensure internal and external clients’ needs are met
Focus on thorough test planning and execution with strong quality emphasis
Provide thorough documentation and communication of issues
Perform advanced data analysis and systems analysis to troubleshoot complex issues from test or customer sites and improve overall systems performance
Communicate technical status updates, review test plans, and work closely with other autonomy validation engineers, support teams, and product support
Keep up with industry trends and new technology breakthroughs through continuous learning (self/internet study, conferences, papers) and interaction with other autonomous engineers
