Responsibilities
Participate as active members of the engagement team throughout each phase (planning, execution, and reporting) of quarterly audit engagements
Work collaboratively and independently to conduct audits across operational, financial, regulatory, and/or technology areas
Execute aspects of the standard internal audit process, including planning, execution, and reporting to business management
Perform thorough inquiry and data analysis to understand business operations, assess risk, and develop project scope for complex process areas
Contribute to overall planning efforts for engagement timeline and approach
Evaluate records, documents, methods, policies, costs, and other factors to determine compliance with policies/procedures, best practices, GAAP, and legal requirements
Identify remediation tactics for risk areas
Apply audit procedures to test controls and ensure all significant risks are addressed
Prepare clear and well-organized audit work papers documenting root-cause, work performed, investigation summaries, and recommendations
Formulate appropriate conclusions and document findings based on testing results
Identify audit findings and recommend corrective actions
Assist less experienced team members in understanding and executing internal audit methodology and standards
Identify opportunities for improvement to audit methodology, tools, and training
Support department objectives and perform other duties as assigned
Conduct audit activities with internal and external customers in mind when identifying control issues
