Requirements

Candidates must possess extensive experience supporting web applications at a Windows server level, with a strong understanding of hosted applications within IIS and Azure environments. A deep understanding of Microsoft SQL (SSMS) and experience with database management and T-SQL querying, including identifying and improving performance bottlenecks, is required. Proven experience implementing and utilizing application monitoring tools such as Application Insights or similar is necessary, with prior exposure to Kusto Query Language (KQL) being preferred. Strong problem-solving skills to independently analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions are essential, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Senior Application Support Engineer will provide technical expertise and support for StarCompliance web applications, acting as the primary point of contact for highly technical issues and undertaking troubleshooting and resolution. They will utilize deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, using SSMS and Profiler, to analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot database performance issues. The role involves supporting and monitoring Azure environments using tools like Application Insights for proactive issue identification, and configuring, monitoring, and maintaining IIS for optimal web application performance. Responsibilities also include investigating and resolving complex technical incidents, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and operating as a lead analyst to mentor and guide a team of technical analysts. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and continuous improvement of web applications is also a key duty.
