Candidates should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, including familiarity with Android components and experience building at least one Android app. A strong understanding of Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests is essential. Product design intuition, user empathy, and excellent communication skills are also required. Bonus points for experience with open-source Android projects, iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
The Android Core Product Software Engineer will own and deliver major features, shape the future of the Android team, and maintain/improve reliability metrics. They will participate in cross-functional discussions, review pull requests, support teammates, handle critical issues, and take ownership of feature releases. The role also involves improving the app and codebase beyond specified requirements and adopting a user-oriented problem-solving approach.
