Interacts with Corporate Headquarters functions including Accounting, Supply Chain & Logistics, and IT personnel
Manages multiple deadlines and responds quickly to management, plant, and departmental requests
Coordinates and supports activities across multiple locations and departments

Responsibilities

Responsible for all plant accounting functions including complete ownership of the P&L, Manufacturing Statement, and Balance Sheet accounts
Operates as the key financial accountant for assigned plant, providing overall control of the balance sheet and P&L
Coordinates and communicates with plant staff regarding corporate objectives, guidelines, procedures, and policies, ensuring compliance
Executes month-end, quarter-end, and annual close duties, including accruals, reviewing financial information, preparing and posting journal entries, and maintaining documentation for approvals
Ensures adherence to and effectiveness of internal controls in area of responsibility
Maintains general and supporting sub-ledgers and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for assigned locations and accounts
Analyzes variances both pre- and post-close on a monthly basis, understands root causes, drives corrective actions, and prepares monthly variance analysis and reporting packages versus budget, prior year, and forecast
Analyzes Inventory Change P&L accounts monthly, identifies, explains, and reports on manufacturing variances from standards
Prepares and distributes daily, monthly, and quarterly reports, including monthly reporting packages with variance analysis
Prepares monthly forecasts and annual operating expense and capital budgets; presents forecasts and budgets to Management
Prepares AFE including development of payback financial calculations; reviews AFEs for compliance, financial integrity, and accuracy; supervises tracking through approval process
Forecasts capital spending monthly; creates and submits subsequent AFE closures and writeoffs timely
Ensures accuracy of fixed assets; assists with periodic verification (counts), ensures proper execution and timely adjustments; monitors and processes fixed asset disposals and transfers
Ensures accuracy of inventory; assists with periodic inventory verification, ensures counts per corporate guidelines and timely adjustments
Performs month-end inventory revaluation procedures, establishes slow moving/obsolete reserves, handles overall costing of inventory
Ensures bills of materials and inventory costs are accurate; investigates month-end count variances and supports root-cause corrective actions; supports monthly inventory reporting
