Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Active CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience preparing audit schedules and supporting external audit processes
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial data, including assets, liabilities, and payroll entries
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and proper reporting
  • Track program costs, revenue, and funding to ensure accurate expense allocation
  • Maintain comprehensive accounting records in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Support accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense management
  • Assist in preparing audit documentation and coordinating external and internal audit activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline the monthly close process and improve internal controls
  • Assist with government and funder financial reports and filings as needed
  • Provide technical expertise and support to management and other departments
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and best practice implementation within the accounting function
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
