Position Overview

Interwell Health is a kidney care management company dedicated to reimagining healthcare and helping patients live their best lives. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Manager, Accounting, this role will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting of a business unit, including Accrued Liabilities, related Expenses, Revenue, and month-end close responsibilities. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in month-end close processes, a strong focus on internal controls, and demonstrated experience in process improvement. We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with a solid accounting foundation and strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end close process, including accrued liabilities, expenses, cash reconciliations, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, and related revenue accruals.
  • Help define and improve accounting processes and procedures, including enhancing existing documentation.
  • Provide support for Interwell billing and revenue processes as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to accrued liabilities, expenses, and journal entries.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls to minimize financial risk, identify opportunities, and collaborate with external auditors.
  • Prepare monthly Blackline reconciliations for key and non-key balance sheet accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in researching, documenting, and interpreting technical accounting guidance, particularly ASC 606.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software (SAP, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and Blackline preferred).
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to learn quickly and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.
  • High sense of urgency, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with a SaaS (software as a service) business and/or healthcare is highly valued.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% annually for onsite meetings as needed.
