Candidates must possess a BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA and Big 4 experience being preferred. An ideal candidate will have 8+ years of progressively responsible experience, including at least 5 years of audit or advisory experience in revenue accounting, specifically within the software industry. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 for SaaS and on-premise software (with a preference for usage-based SaaS), is essential. The role requires precision, analytical skills, organization, self-motivation, the ability to research complex accounting issues and recommend solutions, and strong leadership and prioritization skills for a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are also necessary to effectively interact with all company levels.
The Senior Technical Revenue Manager will establish, develop, and maintain the company's revenue accounting policies, proactively monitoring and implementing new revenue accounting standards and assessing their impact. This role involves serving as the subject matter expert on revenue accounting, preparing technical accounting memorandums for non-standard contracts and new offerings, and advising sales and growth teams on deal structures with a focus on revenue accounting impact. Responsibilities also include assisting in the negotiation and review of new revenue contracts, collaborating on new product introductions by assessing revenue recognition, operational impact, scalability, and business risk with product management, engineering, and GTM teams, and working closely with external auditors to ensure policy adherence, align on new revenue topics, and meet audit and SEC reporting deliverables.
