Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 9-11 years of work experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) | Preferred
  • Experience with accounting software and data entry
  • Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced level skills in Excel
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations ensuring completeness and accuracy of all estimates and assumptions
  • Review and approve monthly journal entries prepared by the Staff Accountant(s)
  • Manage and mentor the team, providing leadership and coaching to help team members grow and develop
  • Analyze monthly financial statements, and identify and address variances and fluctuations against historical performance
  • Produce financial statements, trial balances, and other reports on a monthly basis
  • Develop, communicate, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable financial information
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities in the mentee's area of responsibility and work with the leader to implement those improvements
