Requirements

Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 9-11 years of work experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) | Preferred
Experience with accounting software and data entry
Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced level skills in Excel
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
Key Skills: Confidentiality, Customer focused, Strong interest in numbers and financial reports, Effective Communication Skills

Responsibilities

Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations ensuring completeness and accuracy of all estimates and assumptions
Review and approve monthly journal entries prepared by the Staff Accountant(s)
Manage and mentor the team, providing leadership and coaching to help team members grow and develop
Analyze monthly financial statements, and identify and address variances and fluctuations against historical performance
Produce financial statements, trial balances, and other reports on a monthly basis
Develop, communicate, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable financial information
Proactively identify process improvement opportunities in the mentee's area of responsibility and work with the leader to implement those improvements
