Requirements

Proven experience in security engineering and compliance within federal health or mission-critical cloud systems
Hands-on expertise with ATO processes, risk management frameworks (RMF), and security control implementation
Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, and VA/DoD security guidelines
Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS GovCloud) and related security services
Experience integrating security scanning tools (static/dynamic analysis, dependency scanning, IaC security) into CI/CD pipelines
Proficiency with monitoring and vulnerability tools (Splunk, Tenable, Qualys, or similar)
Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders on security and compliance
A proactive mindset toward security automation, compliance-as-code, and continuous monitoring
Authorized to work in the United States
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or a security clearance (certain roles)
Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

Lead security, compliance, and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities for mission-critical federal health platforms
Ensure that systems are secure, accredited, and aligned with VA and federal standards
Balance compliance with modern engineering practices to deliver reliable, secure services for millions of users
Perform other related duties as assigned
