Requirements

  • MS/PhD degree in science (polymer, synthetic organic or inorganic chemistry), engineering, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in synthetic organic, inorganic, or polymer chemistry within a research or industry setting
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of synthesis methods, reaction mechanisms, kinetics, and thermodynamics
  • Proficiency in using molecular and physical chemistry-based tools for reaction product characterization
  • Theoretical knowledge of HPLC and/or IC fundamentals is advantageous
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior scientists
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent project management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, matrix-managed environment
  • Ability to present findings in public forums
  • Strong English language skills

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to silica synthesis, modification, evaluation, and column packing steps
  • Define well-characterized, robust, and reproducible processes within operational ranges
  • Analyze and interpret technological and scientific content
  • Plan and conduct experiments to determine critical quality attributes and operational ranges
  • Interpret and present data to project team members
  • Document, track, and communicate experimental plans, test results, and analysis
  • Collaborate with project managers, operations, and development teams
  • Participate in product/process design specification reviews and contribute to product documentation
  • Identify deviations from standards and propose modifications for conformity
  • Perform other assigned duties as required
