Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Process, Chemical, Biochemical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in API Manufacturing Unit Operations. Experience with API chemical synthesis, biotech operations, and chromatography is preferred, along with a strong understanding of GMP production environments and chemical engineering principles. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams, coupled with coaching and mentoring skills for technical development, is essential. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements and flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring relocation to the new site area.

Responsibilities

The Senior Principal Process Engineer will provide technical leadership for API production operations, mentoring process engineers, and sustaining process knowledge. Key responsibilities include supporting and reviewing root cause analyses, identifying and addressing process knowledge gaps, and capturing critical process knowledge such as material and energy balances. The role also involves maintaining process safety, ensuring equipment qualification aligns with intended use, integrating modeling and simulation for process enhancement, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the engineer will lead or support tech transfers, oversee the development of user requirements and design reviews, and guide return-to-service protocols following equipment interventions.
