Requirements

  • British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship (security clearance requirements)
  • Skills in Windows and Linux native software (C/C++), dynamic languages like Python, GPU-acceleration, and 3D graphics (OpenGL, GLSL, CUDA, Vulkan)
  • Strong software background including software architecture design, concurrency, synchronisation, and database design
  • Appreciation of or desire to learn the physics of EM radiation propagation, coherent phenomena, and thermal analysis, including supporting tools
  • Affinity with lean/agile methods and software development tools (version control, task management, continuous integration, etc.)
  • Ability to be adaptable, creative, and innovative in solving problems
  • Demonstrated commitment and integrity in delivering on time, to cost, and quality; experience or appreciation of task package management
  • Enthusiasm about software engineering and developing physical models of the real world and EO sensor perception

Responsibilities

  • Develop real-world simulations and modelling tools critical to MBDA’s product development
  • Support EO scene generation capability, including modelling and simulation of the world observed by EO sensors
  • Accelerate simulations for real-time integration and test of missile hardware
  • Contribute to high volume simulation of weapon systems, missiles, and sub-systems
  • Support scene generation activities, from synthetic modelling of real-world objects and Earth’s surface to hardware testing, validation, experimentation, and field trials
  • Evolve and broaden the team’s toolset to deliver industry-leading capabilities for current and future programmes
  • Work within a small, multi-disciplinary team on complex weapon programmes, gaming missions with or without real hardware, and collaborating with customers and suppliers on next-generation EO and multi-sensor seekers
