Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience
  • Music industry or music licensing experience (a plus, but not required)
  • Established contacts in media, entertainment, or corporate brands (a plus)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
  • Expertise in developing and executing sales strategies that align with business goals and client needs
  • Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of how to open, nurture, and close business opportunities
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software (Salesforce a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple clients and deadlines
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Goal-oriented, comfortable working independently, collaborative, and innovative
  • Ability to assess book of business and communicate status to management
  • Superior work ethic and dynamic, positive attitude
  • Minimum of 3-4 days in office
  • Willingness to travel to trade shows, events, and client meetings (including some weekends/evenings)

Responsibilities

  • License production music to clients, focusing on Film, TV, and SVOD (e.g., Netflix, Apple+)
  • Utilize prospecting and strategic selling skills to drive new business opportunities
  • Maximize revenue growth from existing clientele within assigned book of business
  • Leverage department resources to support new and existing clients (liaising with music search, production, tech support, billing, marketing, licensing support)
  • Develop skills in using UPM website and system tools to assist clients
  • Call and follow up on leads from UPM website, trade shows, etc
  • Maintain understanding of market dynamics, threats, and competitor information
  • Utilize CRM system to document all prospecting and client management activities
  • Attend and participate in bi-weekly licensing team meetings and off-site team meetings
  • Travel to industry trade shows, events, and client meetings throughout North America
  • Handle other periodic requests as assigned by management
