Requirements

  • Currently studying towards a degree in Engineering (including Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Systems and Safety) or Physics (minimum 2:2)
  • British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship
  • Able to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS)

Responsibilities

  • Assess and assure safety and reliability aspects of complex weapon systems (developing skills in both safety and reliability)
  • Gain experience in Safety and Reliability Engineering within the Defence sector
  • Support product development across phases from conception through testing, trials, manufacture, and customer delivery
  • Apply Safety and Reliability Engineering techniques and best practices, such as Hazard Analysis, Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Safety or Reliability Case Reports
  • Build and secure networks with stakeholders within and outside MBDA
  • Support design teams to deliver safe and reliable products on time and on cost
  • Implement business processes with guidance from Guided Weapon Safety Officers or Technical Experts
  • Facilitate or attend Customer Safety Panel meetings or Community of Practice events
