Requirements

Candidates should possess the ability to take the lead of a creative element of the game, communicate with all parties involved, gather feedback, and fully complete it, demonstrating a strong understanding of narrative beats and pacing. They should also be able to imagine what it’s like to experience the game for the first time, understand player expectations, observe players and learn from their actions, and possess a high level of digital literacy, adapting quickly to new software and tools like G Suite, Confluence, and Jira. Furthermore, they need attention to detail, be undaunted by complexity and change, and function effectively in an agile environment with evolving needs.

Responsibilities

The RPG Designer will design narrative and gameplay content within a specific area of the game, taking ownership throughout implementation and ensuring its final quality, while also ensuring logical and well-paced narrative flow in the combination of situations, dialogues, and areas. They will create solutions for quest design problems, conduct progress reviews, gather feedback from other departments, and work collaboratively to reach the optimal finished state. The designer will write and update documentation, communicate changes to the teams, take a holistic approach when implementing changes, considering the impact on various departments, and understanding player motivations and expectations.
