Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 1-3 years of direct experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition or 3-5 years of progressive general accounting experience with a strong understanding of revenue principles is required. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and Word/Google Docs, along with excellent research, analytical, and communication skills, is essential. Experience in building systems and processes within a rapidly growing business is also a plus.

Responsibilities

The Revenue Recognition Accountant will prepare and analyze revenue accounting entries for month-end close, ensuring deferred revenue waterfalls are accurately maintained. This role will own the end-to-end revenue accounting for Firstup, including ASC 606 revenue recognition in NetSuite (ARM module) monthly. Responsibilities include performing detailed reviews of Master Agreements and Contracts for compliance and proper revenue recording, ensuring accurate GAAP application to complex revenue transactions, and reviewing Order Perfection for data accuracy and revenue recognition impact in Salesforce. The role also involves performing and maintaining SSP analysis annually, supporting external auditor coordination, and participating in the continuous improvement of revenue recognition processes and systems.
