Role: Part-Time Retail Store Associate

Dunnrite Food Products is looking for a Part-Time Retail Store Associate. This position assists the public in purchasing poultry products from the Factory Outlet. This candidate will be responsible for transferring product from the Plant to the Factory Outlet, managing inventory in the Factory Outlet, and selling products to the customer-base. This candidate will also perform regular cleaning to ensure a presentable store front. We are looking for a candidate with strong computer skills, excellent communication skills, and some sales skills.

Employment Type: Part Time - Hourly Shift: Saturdays

Responsibilities

  • Creating and establishing strong, positive relationships with customers while understanding their needs.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized Factory Outlet. With the requirement to do a full Factory Outlet clean quarterly.
  • Maintaining proper inventory at the Factory Outlet.
  • Ordering eggs from Sales when inventory is low.
  • Ordering fresh product from the Plant and ensuring that all product ordered is accounted for and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Transferring fresh and frozen product from the Plant to the Factory Outlet daily.
  • Using sales abilities to push products when required.
  • Receiving phone calls from customers, answering their questions, concerns, or placing their orders.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and a walkie-talkie style radio to communicate across departments.
  • Familiarizing oneself with product item codes, weights, and pricing.
  • Taking monetary payments for product sold and using the Moneris machine for Debit and Credit transactions.
  • Cashing out at the end of the day, tallying up transactions, reconciling, and dropping monies into the safe for the Finance department.
  • Performing other duties as requested by the Manager of Business Solutions.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs is required.
  • “Food handling certificate” not required, but considered an asset.
  • Experience in a sales role is an asset.
  • Familiar with PC based software applications.
  • Experience interacting with customers.
  • Soft skills like organization, communication, and great attention to detail.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a customer service/sales role.
