Passionate about customer service and able to model this behavior
Ability to perform sales and cash functions efficiently using POS systems, handheld scan guns, 10 keypads, and scales
Skilled in visual inspection for product tampering and receipt checking
Capable of using reach trucks and pallet jacks for product movement and stocking
Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software
Ability to work in various departments (e.g., front end, Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply) based on needs
Completion of CHEF’STORE Way training to utilize tools and skills

Responsibilities

Ensure superior customer service by developing relationships and maximizing customer experience
Perform cashier duties: scan merchandise, weigh products, look up items, ensure barcode accuracy, report discrepancies, and conduct cart-to-cart transfers
Act as receipt checker, verifying cart contents against purchases as customers exit
Handle store opening and closing functions at the front end
Assist customers on the sales floor to find products and inform them of store services
Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves neatly, rotate products (FIFO), perform product quality audits, and report low stock
Label merchandise properly (blaster tagging, catch weight labels, PLU tags)
Replenish sales floor daily by down-stocking freight from top stock, ensuring oldest product first
Make products easily accessible, visually appealing, and constantly available
Assist with price changes, special events (e.g., Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets), and inventory/cycle counts
