Proficiency with POS systems, handheld scan guns, 10 keypad, countertop scales, and computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, proprietary software)
Ability to use reach trucks and pallet jacks for product movement and stocking

Responsibilities

Ensure superior customer service by developing relationships, utilizing CHEF’STORE Way training, and modeling US Foods Cultural Beliefs
Perform sales and cash functions at POS: scanning merchandise, weighing products, looking up items, ensuring barcode accuracy, and reporting discrepancies
Conduct cart-to-cart transfers at checkout with visual inspection for tampering
Act as receipt checker, verifying cart contents vs. purchases as customers exit
Perform store opening and closing functions at the front end
Assist customers on the sales floor to find products and promote store services
Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves neatly, rotate products (FIFO), perform quality audits, report low stock, and ensure proper labeling (blaster tagging, catch weight labels, PLU tags)
Replenish sales floor daily by down stocking freight from top stock, culling out products as necessary
Ensure products are easily accessible, visually appealing, and constantly available
Assist with price changes, inventory, cycle counts, special events (Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets), and store opening/closing duties
Maintain facility safety, follow safety policies, and notify management of issues
