Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, analytics, industrial engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, retail scheduling, workforce management, or budgeting/financial analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Workforce Management/scheduling tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate across teams and present insights
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, and planning
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent project management capabilities and the ability to lead multiple initiatives and projects
  • Understanding of retail operations, labor laws, processes, and financial regulations
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move 20 pounds and frequently sit/stand

Responsibilities

  • Use analytical tools to analyze historical sales and traffic data to forecast labor needs by store, department, and time of day
  • Develop labor models that align staffing levels with expected customer demand
  • Collaborate with store leadership to create optimized schedules that meet both business needs and employee availability
  • Establish time standards for key tasks (e.g., stocking, cashiering, etc.)
  • Conduct time and motion studies to validate labor standards
  • Update labor standards based on changes in store layout, technology, or processes
  • Determine optimal staffing levels for new store openings or remodels
  • Support seasonal labor planning and hiring strategies
  • Align labor plans with corporate budgets and productivity goals
  • Track labor utilization and productivity metrics across stores
  • Identify variances between forecasted and actual labor usage
  • Provide actionable insights to improve labor efficiency and reduce overtime
  • Maintain and configure workforce management systems
  • Oversee the training of store leaders on the scheduling tools and labor planning best practices
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies in scheduling practices
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to align labor strategies with broader business goals
  • Communicate labor expectations and changes to field leadership and store teams
  • Support management initiatives related to labor planning
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives; provide ad hoc sales and financial analysis as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned
