Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience supervising a café or quick service operation
  • Experience and knowledge in coffee and coffee production

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach and be mobile for up to 4 hours

  • Ability to operate a commercial espresso machine
  • Food Handlers License and Serv-Safe Certification (a plus)
  • Hospitality experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to meet all business objectives while delivering outstanding service
  • Oversee all aspects of the Caffe in back-of-house (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) operations, as well as customer engagement areas
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure standards for guest service, employee practices, financial performance, operational efficiency, and health and safety
  • Engage with Caffe employees in a hands-on capacity to foster teamwork and operational excellence
  • Motivate, inspire, and develop team through setting clear expectations and leading by example
  • Fulfill guest needs by actively participating in service operations such as barista, cashier, gelato, dining area maintenance, etc
  • Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality standards, upholding all Department of Health (DOH) and company regulations
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Operations Eataly Caffe to develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures
  • Manage labor, costs, inventory, regulatory compliance, pricing, and merchandising to optimize operational performance
  • Employ a strong analytical approach to business management, utilizing financial reports, product metrics, and local business data
  • Assist in team scheduling to maximize productivity and labor efficiency, making staffing decisions based on anticipated sales volume
  • Actively recruit and train Caffe team members in collaboration with HR and Talent Acquisition teams
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Eataly, representing the store to the community and guests
  • Oversee full-service bar operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
