Responsibilities

  • Generate and sometimes oversee the collection and distribution of sports data and content for ESPN platforms, prioritizing Event and Studio programming
  • Match statistics and storylines with organizational needs in Research/BottomLine
  • Lead in content generation, outlining larger content plans, and editing submissions from staff for accuracy, quality, and consistency
  • Collaborate with Senior Coordinating Producers to take direction and help plan segments, shows, sport coverage, and advertising executions
  • Contribute to strategic planning of content coverage (months/years ahead) and execute year-to-year coverage improvements
  • Ensure use of all available tools/resources for breaking and emerging storylines; make training recommendations to managers
  • Seek, recommend, and drive efficiencies aligning with priorities of accuracy, timeliness, and resource allocation
  • Coach and mentor Part-Time Researchers; provide direction, coaching, and feedback as ranking staff during live events or projects
  • Set a good example for Research staff in improving content, production, and professionalism
  • Engage in regular conversations with managers on performance, improvement, and accountability
