Requirements

  • A demonstrable professional or academic interest in terrorism, political violence and extremism
  • Professional or academic experience in open-source research and monitoring
  • An understanding of conducting balanced and objective research
  • Keen interest in terrorism and extremism

  • Comfortable using open-source tools and techniques

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality open-source research, monitoring and data gathering, including qualifying sources and validating information
  • Utilise, develop and maintain resources, specifically data feeds and open source networks
  • Provide high-quality research in support of project work and security intelligence reports or briefings, within agreed timescales, seeking guidance where required
  • Conduct open-source data collection and media monitoring in maintaining key Dragonfly products: the TerrorismTracker (TT) database and Travel Risks Monitor (TRM)
  • Work in direct support of Dragonfly's team of intelligence analysts on discrete taskings, including assisting regional analysts with research for reports and client requests
  • Be proactive in taking on day-to-day tasks and ensuring team delivery demands are met
  • Be comfortable operating in a team environment and working on process-driven tasks
