Requirements

Diploma - Veterinary Technician/Technologist (Registered Veterinary Technician - RVT)
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Detail-oriented
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a positive attitude
Passionate about high-quality patient care
Knowledge of veterinary theory, principles, and concepts (including Fear Free techniques)
Compliance with provincial laws and regulations governing the RVT profession

Responsibilities

Communicate compassionately and professionally with clients and team members
Administer and analyze diagnostic tests (hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, urinalysis, etc.)
Assist veterinarians with surgical and therapeutic procedures, maintaining aseptic standards
Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia per veterinary scope and laws
Provide veterinary nursing care ethically and professionally
Document and maintain accurate veterinary medical records
Operate and maintain veterinary medical equipment per health and safety regulations
Execute and evaluate quality diagnostic images
Perform dental procedures using knowledge of dental structures, diseases, etc
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Maintain inventory of medical supplies
Support a collaborative work environment and assist other staff
