Registered Nurse (RN) - active license in the state of practice (Board of Nursing) upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (48hrs/2wks)
Commitment to maintaining competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership
Preferred: 1-3 years experience working in a clinical environment

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and pertinent information to the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers
Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining patients; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and social factors; conferring with family and friends
Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructing patient, family, and friends on condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources
Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes; reviewing patient records; noting changing conditions; re-evaluating and modifying care objectives and plans
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration/storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations; alerting others to potential concerns
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Keeps patient care equipment operating by following instructions and procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing/expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items
