Registered Nurse (RN) - active license in the state of practice (Board of Nursing) upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to acute and chronic dialysis patients
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of the unit, including staffing and patient scheduling, ensuring safe and efficient operations
Assist leader in review, implementation, and compliance of Avera policies/procedures and external regulatory requirements
Assist with submission of quality and regulatory reporting; collect and analyze performance improvement data
Review patient treatment plans with direct caregivers and primary nurses; offer suggestions/interventions to enhance efficiency and quality of care
Communicate and round with patients and staff as directed
Coordinate operations and procedures including biomedical matters, physician orders, supplies, primary nursing, and regulatory reporting
Round with physicians, provide patient updates, and follow through with physician orders
Facilitate resolution of staff/family/patient concerns and report to proper management as necessary
Utilize order sets to timely order lab work; monitor lab results and report abnormal results to nephrologist
Assist leader with staff orientation, staff development, procedure development/revision, and patient education
Act as a clinical resource assuring implementation of program policy/procedures and regulatory compliance; oversee care and day-to-day operations by managing staff assignments and duties
