Requirements

2+ years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, working with complex patient populations, preferably in the mental health space
A bachelor’s degree and a master’s/graduate degree
Completion of an ACEND-accredited didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice
Current registration as a Registered Dietitian
Human-centered and empathetic, with an individualized and patient-centered approach
Passionate about educating and empowering patients using evidence-based dietary guidance for complex populations
Team-player who thrives in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling to patients with severe mental illness
Conduct assessments to identify health and behavioral needs and create individualized coaching plans
Implement behavior-change strategies, address barriers, and adjust plans based on patient progress
Support dietary and nutrition-led interventions in partnership with dietitians/nutritionists
Lead daily and weekly group activities that promote light movement, physical wellness, and healthy routines
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and care teams to share updates on patient goals, progress, and clinical considerations
Participate in research initiatives by implementing therapeutic dietary protocols (e.g., ketogenic interventions) and collecting outcome data
Assess clients’ physical health and develop comprehensive health plans focusing on lifestyle changes across diet, exercise, sleep, financial health, relationship health, and treatment compliance
Conduct individual and group coaching sessions to help patients maintain treatment goals, reduce stress, improve mindfulness, nutrition, medication adherence, and increase physical exercise
