About the Role

Foodsmart has an exciting opportunity for Registered Dietitian Partners (RDs) to support our comprehensive nutrition care mission, focused on removing financial barriers to accessing and affording healthy food. As a Foodsmart RD, you will leverage our digital platform to provide a broad range of nutrition and health-related consultations, helping members maximize their food budget, eat healthier, and reduce the risk of chronic disease. This role offers the chance to significantly impact the lives of members, many of whom are from Medicaid and underserved communities, by addressing food and nutrition insecurity. You will provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) in various capacities, including supporting patients with SNAP benefits, grocery purchasing via Foodsmart's marketplace, and developing sustainable healthy eating and shopping habits.

Role Expectations

  • Minimum 15 hours of weekly availability for patients during peak demand hours (6 am-8 pm PT / 9 am-11 pm EST).
  • Commitment of at least 1 year as a 1099 contractor with Foodsmart.
  • Completion of at least 6 follow-up visits with patients.
  • Achievement of a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 80% or above.
  • Value in developing lasting relationships with patients to support sustainable behavior change and improved health outcomes.
  • Note: RD contractors are required to carry professional liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) via remote sessions to patients with diverse health and lifestyle needs.
  • Document care in the electronic medical record according to the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Assist patients in maximizing the utility of Foodsmart's digital platform.
  • Manage a panel of clients/patients with a variety of chronic health conditions and backgrounds.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients/patients through HIPAA-compliant video calls and electronic messaging.

Requirements

  • Active credentialing as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and Licensed Dietitian status.
  • Must possess at least one state licensure, with a willingness to apply for additional licensure in 1-3+ other states (reimbursed by Foodsmart).
  • Ability to work in the U.S.
  • High-speed internet and a smartphone.
