Candidates must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, hold a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition, and possess 3 or more years of experience in dietetics and/or health coaching. A state license in the resident state and knowledge of legal responsibilities, including state and federal laws governing nutrition practice, are also required. A Master's degree in Dietetics or a related field, certification as a Diabetic Educator, experience in health insurance, and experience with the Medicare population and Special Needs Plan members are preferred qualifications.
The Registered Dietitian 2 will design meal plans to alter and regulate patients' nutrition based on their medical condition and individual needs. They will utilize scientific principles and methods in nutrition and dietetics to influence factors affecting food intake and eating behavior, with a focus on the Medicare population with chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD, and heart failure.
