Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, coupled with a sales engineering background or over 5 years of relevant work experience. A strong understanding of endpoint or network security spaces, including AV, EDR, incident response, forensics, SIEM, firewall, and HIPS/IDS, is essential. Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, as well as mobile platforms like iOS/Android, is required. A solid grasp of the OSI model, IPv4/6, Routing, Switching, DNS, VLANs, Subnetting, Taps, Load Balancers, SNORT, and YARA is necessary. The ideal candidate can articulate complex security problems to diverse audiences, is a strong self-starter capable of independent work, and possesses excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present to C-level executives. Extensive contacts in the information security field and strong references are also required. Experience with malware, threat intelligence, sandbox analysis, programming/scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash), virtualization/VDI technologies, and large-scale cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) are considered advantageous.
The Sales Engineer will collaborate with sales teams and partners to conduct high-touch pre-sales technical activities, including technically qualifying opportunities and managing Proof of Value (POV) evaluations. They will create Security Assessment Reports for end-users post-POV evaluation, drive end-user acceptance for POV conversion to revenue, and train distributors and partners to enable successful POVs and assist with Security Assessment Reports. The role involves working with Corporate PM and Engineering to gather product information for reports and end-users, training distributor/partner SEs and Sales staff in the region, and acting as a liaison between partners/customers and corporate headquarters for technical issues and requirements. The Sales Engineer will work with sales teams to achieve and exceed quarterly revenue targets, monitor and report on the competitive situation and market development in the region, and assist with marketing activities.
