Requirements

6 months Industrial refrigeration experience and/or experience in HVAC required
General maintenance in welding, electrical, and hydraulics preferred
Good math, reading and writing skills to properly monitor equipment, check and record data
Must be able to wear required personnel protection equipment to include Air Purifying Respirators which requires a medical physical and clearance to wear APR
Must be able to work in hot outside temperatures of 118 degrees to cold temperatures of -10 degrees inside the freezer
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to work 12-hour shift of being on your feet and working on hard surfaces like concrete all day
180 days wait period from last termination date
3X rule (candidates cannot have worked for Tyson 3X before)
Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Documenting the readings for all the ammonia systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, re-circulators, and any piping and associated equipment
Follow instructions both written and orally
Forklift preventative maintenance/repair and any other duties as assigned
Perform daily inspections on the equipment and perform mandatory checks multiple times a day
Visually inspect all assigned equipment on the roof and within the plant regularly and reporting any ammonia issues to the supervisor
Develop a thorough knowledge of facility layout, tools, parts and equipment
Maintain and monitor the ammonia refrigeration equipment within safety standards for the entire facility
Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
Be a member of the HAZMAT Team
Work inside and outside of facility as directed
