Position Overview

  • Location Type: Remote
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Salary: Not specified

Pomelo Care is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, engineers, and problem solvers who are passionate about improving care for moms and babies. We are transforming outcomes for pregnant people and babies with evidence-based pregnancy and newborn care at scale. Our technology-driven care platform enables us to engage patients early, conduct individualized risk assessments for poor pregnancy outcomes, and deliver coordinated, personalized virtual care throughout pregnancy, NICU stays, and the first postpartum year. We measure ourselves by reductions in preterm births, NICU admissions, c-sections, and maternal mortality; we improve outcomes and reduce healthcare spend. Pomelo Care recently acquired The Doula Network, a national network of in-person birth doulas, to support its mission of transforming maternal and infant health by providing doula services to every birthing person.

Role Description

Your North Star: Enroll clients referred to Pomelo’s doula network by health plans, providers, and doulas. As a Referral Specialist, you will be responsible for documenting, enrolling, and matching referrals for doula care to doulas within the Pomelo Care doula network. You will also educate clients on the benefits of doula care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, an eye for detail and efficiency, the ability to establish rapport with clients and external partners, and the ability to understand and follow new processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound calls and digital outreach (SMS, email) to referred clients to drive new client enrollments, meeting quality and productivity requirements.
  • Document all incoming referrals and interactions in systems of record with timely and accurate updates.
  • Match clients with existing doulas in the Pomelo Care doula network.
  • Coordinate with health plan case managers and external healthcare providers to share updates on referrals and achieve enrollment goals.
  • Track, monitor, and enroll referrals, ensuring timely processing and communication with all parties.
  • Manage inbound calls from potential clients and external partners, answering their questions, addressing their concerns, and providing guidance on how Pomelo can support their needs.
  • Achieve member enrollment goals.
