Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical field
  • In-depth knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 or similar), statistical process control, and root cause analysis
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in quality management within the building materials or concrete products industry
  • Experience managing quality systems across multiple manufacturing sites, including international locations (preferably US and Mexico)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and project management skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% to US and Mexico plant locations
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk or hear regularly; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms frequently; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl occasionally; lift and/or move up to 20 pounds occasionally; specific vision abilities required
  • Preferred Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt; Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) by ASQ

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple US and Mexico manufacturing sites for concrete building products
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Lead, train, and mentor site quality teams to ensure consistent application of quality processes and methodologies
  • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes, raw materials, and finished products
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and support new product introduction
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, complaints, and audits
  • Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance, risks, and improvement activities to senior management
  • Foster a culture of quality, integrity, and accountability in line with Westlake’s Code of Conduct and values
