Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in a quality, process, or color laboratory environment within manufacturing
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • (Preferred) Color or pigment experience (e.g., coatings, plastics, rubber, flooring, or other color-critical industries)
  • (Preferred) Experience in continuous improvement / Lean Six Sigma
  • (Preferred) ISO 9001 or other QMS experience
  • (Preferred) Experience coordinating between R&D, production, and quality teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day direction to color lab personnel; oversee testing, pre-match, and batch validation activities to support production
  • Own and optimize the color control process, including raw material verification, mix validation, molding trials, and production release
  • Act as the primary interface between production, scheduling, and R&D on color-related quality decisions and improvement projects
  • Lead structured problem solving (5-Why, 4D/8D) on color variation and other product quality issues
  • Use SPC and statistical methods to establish, monitor, and improve color consistency standards and control limits
  • Drive preventive and corrective actions through root cause analysis and cross-functional collaboration
  • Coach, train, and develop lab technicians and colorists, fostering engagement and accountability
  • Participate in WCM projects that enhance color consistency, reduce waste, and improve throughput
