Responsibilities

  • Purchase direct materials
  • Obtain quotes, select suppliers, and make final recommendations
  • Generate savings to meet targets
  • Generate purchase orders
  • Provide general sales support
  • Lead the group in all its responsibilities and support other groups/areas
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers
  • Lead the search for savings opportunities and projects (materials analysis, supply chain analysis, analysis of economic factors in the industry)
  • Achieve savings goals for all assigned desks
  • Improve commercial terms (payment terms, payment upon receipt, monthly payment, Incoterms, transfer titles, localization within the region)
  • Conduct timely supplier selection process
  • Coordinate/support business transfers between Aptiv plants
  • Prevent supplier delivery interruptions and supplier location changes
  • Update multiple reports and presentations (supplier, category, etc.)
  • Comply with purchasing policies and procedures, and in interactions with other departments
  • Supervise assigned staff group
  • Lead initiatives for assigned categories
